Kaliningrad Amber Museum invites schoolchildren to participate in the Fifth Contest of Children's and Youth Creativity "Magic of Amber".
Since the very ancientry amber has attracted people with its amazing beauty and mysterious qualities. For the first time "the vogue" of this stone appeared in the Neolithic age – about 6000 years ago. Inhabitants of the Baltic coast made of it amulets, also beads and pendants, rings and tabs back then. In Rus in the Middle Ages songs, legends and charms were made up, in which "miraculous alatyr stone" was called "father of all stones". It was told that it had the great power that stemmed off any disaster and brought happiness to every good man.
The sunstone inspires also modern artists, poets and writers of our region. We propose to the young competitors to see its warmth, beauty and magic and show what's seen in their works.
You should hand over your works to the Amber Museum until 16 January 2015 by all means – bring personally or send per mail to the address 236016 Kaliningrad, Vasilevsky Sq. 1. Each work should have a label with name of its author, title and the used technique.
