Presentation of the book "Amber in the History of Medicine"

The book includes proceedings of the international conference held by the Kaliningrad Amber Museum from 14 to 17 September 2015. The published articles are concerned with relevant issues relating to the use of amber and its derivatives derivatives in medicine and pharmacy, analysis of historical sources, concepts and works of art reflecting this theme. The text is accompanied with 191 coloured illustrations. The material is addressed to historians, culturologists, museum specialists, as well as to everyone who is interested in issues on the history of amber.

The book will be presented by the chair of the editorial board, honoured cultural professional of Russian Federation, director of the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum Tatiana Suvorova, responsible editor of the book, Dr., chief research associate of the museum Irina Polyakova, as well as members of the editorial board.

Supported by the Kaliningrad oblast Administration, as well as partners and philanthropists, the Amber Museum publishes catalogs of exhibitions, books about Kaliningrad craftsmen, monographs of research studies, conferences proceedings. Part of the printed copies is necessarily sent to all libraries of Kaliningrad oblast, as well as to the Russian Central Institute of Bibliography.
