The artist obviously enjoys making multi-unit jewelry sets with the lyrical tone that is typical of the artist.
Irina Kalmykova often decorates metal with grains, trying to open up the decorative features of the Baltic gem as much as possible. Knowing from experience the amazing ability of amber to combine with many metals, the artist is bravely experimenting by combining it with gold, silver and cupronickel. Her works feature thoroughness of the goods treatment, taste and a sense of proportion in using decorative effects.
The artist is very delicate while working with the stone, endeavoring to preserve its innate pattern. The thorough elaboration of the mounting, typical of her works and made in the form of complex figured filigree petals and tendrils, gives the work greater beauty.
