EVGENIYA BORKINA

Was born in 1954 in the city of Simferopol, finished a three-year course in shipbuilding at the Kaliningrad Technical University of Fishing Industry and Economy. She educated herself by attending art school and by taking private classes with local masters, including the famous sculptor and painter I.M. Gershburg.

The artist has been working with amber since 1992, having mastered all the jewelry techniques, but she rejects traditional techniques. Thus, for example, the combination of untreated copper plate with amber looks like a challenge to jewelry art, but not necessarily to creative work. Innovative techniques allow her works to be considered contemporary art.
